Eboni K. Williams may be the first Black cast member on Real Housewives of New York, but her repeated attempts to educate her co-stars about racial issues have fallen flat. Even Eboni’s bestie, Leah McSweeney, realized that Eboni was fighting a losing battle at her Harlem dinner party. The ladies were there to eat, not learn. And Ramona Singer was already lacing up her running shoes.
RHONY viewers met Bershan Shaw at that dinner. Bershan is friends with Ramona. In March of 2021, Bershan, who is a motivational speaker, was added to the cast. She is also a cancer survivor. I thought Bershan seemed interesting and fun.
Bershan posted on Instagram about the season. “The ladies are hot and at their best. It will be a lot of laughter, crying, growing, learning, challenging, diversity and taking it to the next level,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Leah, Sonja Morgan, and Luann de Lesseps talked about how Ramona was posting photos with Bershan and Eboni to her Instagram. The RHONY ladies believed that Ramona was posting photos with Black women to help her image.
Bershan came to Ramona’s defense. “I don’t know where any of that comes from that she doesn’t have any Black friends. I mean, and that she’s a racist,” Bershan stated. “She’s not a racist.”
When the ladies headed to Salem, Massachusetts for a girls’ trip, Bershan shared some hard truths with her co-stars. She said they acted like “grandmas” and called them “a little bit boring.” Naturally, everyone was furious–except for the viewers, who agreed with Bershan’s assessment.
She also said that Sonja acted like a clown. Oof. Bershan also called Sonja a “ho.” Bershan was really coming for Sonja, but I’m not sure why. Sonja’s rambling after imbibing too much really annoyed Bershan.

Bershan and Sonja are apparently in a much better place since filming. “And Sonja is just fun. And I’m so like, loud, big, fun, over the top. So, we get along,” the RHONY newbie commented. In an unbelievable turn of events, Bershan also looks to Sonja for investment advice. I am stunned by this revelation.
Bershan recently told US Weekly that she launched a “a mental health app for supporting people dealing with depression, anxiety, loneliness.” It is called URAWarrior.
Bershan shared, “This app is no bullying, no trolling, no negativity, positive social media. You can go on, you can talk to a coach,” Bershan remarked. “You can hear celebs talk about their stories. It’s all about sharing your story and sharing the realness.”
