‘Migration’: STX Acquires Post-Apocalyptic ‘Greenland’ Sequel in Huge Cannes Deal

Horror

As you may have seen on your various social media feeds the last several days, an unofficial sequel to George A. Romero’s horror classic Night of the Living Dead is on the way with Night of the Living Dead II, which was originally teased by our friends at Rue Morgue.

The site explains that Marcus Slabine (The Dark Offerings) is behind this “sequel,” which notably features Terrifier star David Howard Thornton as one of the film’s shambling undead.

Additionally, we’ve learned via a short teaser clip this week, Night of the Living Dead II will also bring back three familiar faces from another Romero classic, the sequel Day of the Dead!

Day of the Dead star Lori Cardille shared the below teaser clip on social media, suggesting that Cardille will be reuniting with Terry Alexander and Jarlath Conroy in the new movie.

Cardille, Alexander and Conroy, it’s interesting to note, play three of only a small handful of surviving characters from Romero’s movies. Are they playing those same roles in NOTLD II?

Stay tuned for more as we learn it…

Rue Morgue teases the first plot details, “Night of the Living Dead II takes place on a remote island where a small group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse take shelter, only to face fresh terror when the flesh-eaters find their way ashore.”

Sounds like an unofficial sequel to Day of the Dead, doesn’t it… ?
