Garcelle Beauvais Shades Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Cast’s Authenticity; Says They’re All “Great Actors”

Reality TV

Garcelle Beauvais wasted no time in holding her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast mates accountable to grievances that remained unresolved from last season.  On the premiere episode of Season 11, Garcelle confronted Lisa Rinna about the way she treated their mutual friend Denise Richards before she quit the show.  Garcelle found Lisa’s overzealous attention to the truth destructive, and thinks she should have been supportive instead.  And while Lisa felt they had put the issue to bed after meeting for drinks, Garcelle revealed to co-star Sutton Stracke that she still didn’t trust Lisa.

Then there is Kyle Richards’ shocking accusation from the Season 10 reunion.  Kyle claimed that Garcelle never paid money promised at a charity event that she organized.  Garcelle strongly contested the claim at the time, but is ready to confront Kyle again as evidenced by a teaser trailer.  In the meantime, both Kyle and Lisa fluttered about Dorit Kemsley’s barbecue completely unaware of the tension brewing.  They are either oblivious or faking smiles and good humor for the cameras.  Garcelle thinks it’s the latter.

Garcelle said as much during her interview with Entertainment Tonight.  She described her issues with Lisa and Kyle as, “an elephant in the room,” that needed to be addressed.

“[Before we started filming] actually, I spoke to the producers and I said, ‘going back, the first thing I want to do is I want to have two sit-downs: one with [Kyle Richards] and one with Rinna,’” Garcelle explained, “It was important to me. I can’t go on pretending like everybody’s great when we have an elephant in the room. So they promised me that would be the case and they kept to their word.” RHOBH fans saw the sit-down between Garcelle and Lisa already.  It seemed productive as Lisa took responsibility by, “owning it.”

“I was harder on Denise than I needed to be,” Lisa reflected during her meeting with Garcelle, “I would’ve much rather been like you and gone, ‘I don’t care. I’m standing by my friend.’ Like, that’s f**ked up. Absolutely, 100 percent.”

But Garcelle isn’t convinced with a couple of sound-bites from Lisa, she wants to see genuine behavior from her.  This quest for authenticity will be a theme for Garcelle this season.  “I don’t want to fake it,” she said.  Garcelle also teases it with her tagline, “if you want a starring role in my life, you better drop the act.”

Well, Beverly Hills seems to be an epicenter for illusions of grandeur.  If this cast needs to be phony, chalk it up to the environment.  And their professions. “Everybody’s a great actor in this group, everybody should get an Academy Award,” Garcelle quipped, “I think sometimes people put certain fronts up and it’s not really who they are, so I think everybody deserves an Academy Award.”

Garcelle, in turn, is being honest regarding Lisa.  She still feels skeptical about trusting her friendship, based off how she interacted with Denise over her relationship with Brandi Glanville. “I feel like with Rinna, I had a really hard time because we had been friends for so long and to see her treat another friend that she has known for so long [like that], really, was disturbing to me,” Garcelle said, “And I felt like, how do I trust you if you can do that to someone you’ve known?”

Garcelle revealed that she and Lisa are still trying to make it work.  She said, “I think she wants to make it right, but I don’t think you can make it right over one drink or dinner.  I felt like she went to a place that was so unnecessary last season, so it was hard for me to get around that, and we’re still working. I mean, I told her flat out that trust is important, and I don’t necessarily trust her wholeheartedly. So during the season you will see us trying to figure it out. Some good, some not so much.”

It’s very telling that Garcelle still does not follow Lisa on social media.  That’s the ultimate gauge apparently.

What about Kyle?  Will she and Garcelle make up?  It seems Kyle would have to retract her statement.  Highly unlikely since she NEVER takes accountability for anything without throwing another dig back.  But Bravo shared a clip of Garcelle confronting Kyle and asking her if she would have made the same accusation to a white cast member.  Bombshell.  And checkmate.
