Melissa Gorga Defends Jackie Goldschneider For Gia Giudice Analogy

Reality TV

The ongoing saga between Teresa Giudice and Jackie Goldschneider was a refresher in high school English class.  If anyone happened to forget the meaning of an analogy, watching the recent episodes of Real Housewives of New Jersey will surely jog your memory.

Analogy-gate just reinforced the two groups within the cast that we’ve been seeing since Season 10.  Teresa gets backing from Jennifer Aydin, while her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga defends Jackie through thick and thin.  Even when her niece Gia Giudice was the subject of Jackie’s infamous analogy.  Margaret Josephs is firmly team Jackie as well.

This conflict between Teresa and Jackie has only just been put to rest.  Until the two made up, they could not even be in each others’ presence.

Melissa clearly understands an analogy.  So she continues to speak on behalf of her friend.  Most recently, Melissa was on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen where the subject came up again in a clip that was shared on the official WWHL twitter page.

When asked why she didn’t defend Gia, Melissa said, “it was an analogy.  She did not try to accuse Gia of doing that in the bathroom or I would never look at Jackie again.  It was an analogy.”

There seem to be two issues fans have about Melissa defending Jackie’s statement.  First, that Gia is a daughter of a cast member and the housewives claim that children are off limits, especially their own children.  Second, Gia is also Melissa’s niece and perhaps Melissa should have protested about her name being used at all.

One post reads, “Even Caroline Manzo defended Gia but her own aunt threw her under the bus. What a sh!t auntie. Next Jackie will be coming for Antonia [Gorga], let’s see how you will feel then. Jackie has gone after Jen’s children and now Teresa. Next will be Melissa.”

“Teresa herself said it’s ok to bring up kids if you’re trying to prove a point,” the comment read, “when Danielle [Staub]  did it to Marge. Now everyone is supposed to be outraged because this time it’s her kid?? Make it make sense.”

The best solution here is to sweep everything under the rug in the same style as Jackie and Teresa’s reconciliation.  No one is going to change their mind at this point.  At least there are new conflicts to move on to this season.

TELL US- ARE YOU TEAM TERESA OR TEAM MELISSA?  WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JACKIE’S ANALOGY?  SHOULD MELISSA HAVE REACTED DIFFERENTLY TO IT?
