Now, Page Six is reporting that Erika and Tom’s divorce may be a ploy to cover up serious indiscretions. Some people thought cheating was the issue in the marriage. However, a different form of dishonesty may have been the problem, and just not towards each other. It has been discovered that the couple has been sued by Edelson PC on behalf of a number of Boeing plane crash victims. The reason? The couple allegedly embezzled settlement funds that were meant to go towards the victims of Lion Air Flight 610. The class action firm filed the court documents on Wednesday. The lawsuit is claiming that Tom and his law firm Girardi Keese “are on the verge of financial collapse and locked in a downward spiral of mounting debts and dwindling funds.”

The documents claimed that Tom turned to criminal activity to fund the ostentatious lifestyle that he and Erika had become accustomed to. The desire to keep up with the Joneses might be one reason why the RHOBH couple filed for divorce. The lawsuit alleges: “While Erika publicly filed for divorce this month, on information and belief, that ‘divorce’ is simply a sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom’s and Erika’s money from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm GK.”

Sadly, the lawsuit also claims that this is not the first time that Tom has kept funds for himself which were meant for his victims that he represented. If it is true and he has continued to use the money for his lavish lifestyle, it will be hard to bounce back from that. Erika has not helped herself, especially since she has stated on the show that it cost $40,000 a month for her Real Housewives glam squad. Her “Exxpen#sive” video showed off her luxury taste. It looks as if The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star may be falling off her high pedestal.
