Jay-Z Producing Thriller ‘Forty Acres’ for Netflix; ‘Get Out’ Meets ‘The Firm’

Written by Dwayne Alexander Smith and published back in 2014, the novel Forty Acres is being turned into a feature film over at Netflix, we’ve learned via Deadline this week.

Cheo Hodari Coker (“Luke Cage”) will be scripting the adaptation.

Forty Acres follows a civil rights attorney who must fight for survival when he’s invited to join an elite Black organization with a mind-blowing secret.”

Deadline notes, “the thriller is described as being a cross between The Firm and Get Out.”

Producers on the Netflix film include Jay-Z.
