DC Universe TV Shows Titans & Young Justice Get HBO Max Release Dates

Movies

The DC Universe shows Titans and Young Justice are now making their way to HBO Max. DC announced recently that they would be moving all of their original shows on the DC Universe streaming platform over to HBO Max, making them more accessible. The leftover DC Universite site will be converted into a digital comic subscription service.

The DC shows’ movement represents WarnerMedia’s recent strategy of consolidating all their properties under one umbrella. With the ever-increasing number of streaming services out there, it makes sense that WarnerMedia would want to make sure that their properties are not competing with each other. From now on, DC fans will be able to access their superhero content, including Titans and Young Justice, in the same place as all the rest of WarnerMedia’s shows.

A report from CBR confirms that both Titans and Young Justice have set release dates on HBO Max. These release dates were made known as part of HBO Max’s special “Coming Soon” feature publicizing its upcoming November releases. According to this menu, Season 2 of Titans will be premiering November 1st, as will the second season of Young Justice titled Young Justice: Outsiders. Both shows have preview trailers available in the HBO Max menu. Also coming to HBO Max is DC’s already-premiered Stargirl Season 1, which will be available on the streaming service December 1st.

Young Justice team

Titans and Young Justice will supposedly have their new seasons premiere on HBO Max, as will several other DC Universe series. The popular animated Harley Quinn series, for example, will be getting a Season 3 on HBO Max, though it won’t be available until 2021. Other DC shows will not be releasing their new seasons on streaming, like Stargirl Season 2, which will continue releasing episodes on the CW network.

Though the move to HBO Max is a significant change, it should mean good things for shows like Titans and Young Justice. When Titans was released on Netflix, viewers seemed to find it more enjoyable to watch in a binge format rather than week-by-week. Though proven to be successful, the week-by-week model has been heavily criticized by fans of shows like Amazon’s The Boys, so a binge format is likely to get a more positive reaction. Overall, WarnerMedia is likely hoping that moving the DC Universe shows to HBO Max will spark new interest among fans, making Titans and Young Justice more likely to succeed.
