Monique Samuels “Owns” Behavior During Candiace Dillard Fight, But Isn’t “Gonna Beat Herself Up About It”

Two days later and I’m still reeling from that physical altercation between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard on Real Housewives of Potomac. I can’t imagine how the actual cast members feels.

It was just so much happening at once. Monique refused to let go of Candiace’s wig. They were both screaming at each other. Then, Monique thought it was a good idea to run after Candiace in a parking lot. On the ride home, her husband Chris Samuels deemed the fight to be “embarrassing,” which Monique did not seem to agree with at the time. So, how does she feel now, months later after she’s been able to watch the footage?

During a question and answer session on her Instagram Stories, Monique answered a fan who asked, “Why do you not own the fact that your behavior during the last episode was inappropriate?”

“So, I have owned my behavior. Ummm, my behavior was very inappropriate,” Monique said.

Monique continued, “I’m not gonna beat myself up about it though. I’m gonna actually do what I need to do to get better to learn, to grow, and that’s what I’ve done, so I’m not gonna sit here and keep crying rivers.” OK, then. I see her “owning” it, but what about an apology for hurting Candiace and putting Black women in a negative light by getting violent on TV? *crickets.* (Yes, I know Monique was injured too).

Another person asked, “If you could go back, would you change how you acted?”

Thankfully, Monique had a great response to this one. She said, “If I could go back and turn back the hands of time, trust me, I would have walked away as soon as they started asking about how our relationship was because they all knew that our relationship wasn’t in a good place.”

Girl, you are the one who’s bringing so much attention to your struggling relationship. If you just glossed over these mentions, they wouldn’t stand out as much as they do. Reality TV: 101- the more you talk about shit, the worse it gets.
