D’Andra Simmons Says Video Of Brandi Redmond Mocking Asians Will Be Addressed On Real Housewives Of Dallas Next Season

RHOD Real Housewives Of Dallas Brandi Redmond

Recently, a video that Brandi Redmond shared in 2017 resurfaced. In the video, she was making fun of Asians, squinting her eyes and changing the sound of her voice.

The Real Housewives of Dallas star faced backlash for the video, but she didn’t face any consequences in terms of her spot on the show. She tried to defend herself claiming that she was just trying to be humorous, which obviously didn’t go over well. Brandi even checked into some sort of wellness retreat in the wake of the scandal.

In a recent interview with Page Six, D’Andra Simmons revealed that Brandi’s scandal will not be ignored when Real Housewives of Dallas returns for season 5. She shared, “We will address that first thing head on. I think that’s very important for the show. We can’t just sweep it under the rug, especially since it was such a big deal for people and they were very upset about it.” Weird since the video was swept under the rug since she did post it three years ago, but better late than never, I guess.

She also said that there will be some other conversations about race on the upcoming season, but she wouldn’t dish on any of the specifics, remarking, “I can’t really talk about the other cast members, but there’s another reason why we had to do that, as well. You’ll have to wait and see [what that is].”

LeeAnne Locken got fired after making comments about Kary Brittingham being Mexican, but D’Andra says that they don’t “really talk about that” this season, which makes sense since LeeAnne isn’t even a cast member this season. However, Lisa Vanderpump isn’t a Beverly Hills Housewife anymore, yet she has been mentioned multiple times since her exit.
