Nikki Bella almost ruined her own engagement proposal

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev’s engagement didn’t go off without any hitches.

Chigvintsev, 37, entrusted Nikki’s twin sister, Brie, to bring the ring to France with her to pull off a surprise proposal, but Nikki almost ruined her own surprise in a new clip from “Total Bellas,” exclusively obtained by Page Six.

Brie, 36, met with Chigvintsev in her hotel room to show him the ring after flying over with it in the clip, but things almost took a turn for the worse.

“Artem is proposing to Nicole and I don’t know what she’s going to say, but she has no idea that Artem asked me to pick up the ring and bring it all the way to France,” Brie says in the clip.

In a flashback clip of her picking up the ring and chatting with the jeweler, she exclaimed, “It’s so pretty. So when I go through security I don’t know why, I feel like I’m smuggling something. I know I’m not.”

The jeweler laughed, “You’re going to leave it in your bag. Just hold on tight.”

Back in France, Brie handed the ring to Chigvintsev and they began to gush over the ring while sitting on the bed, they had an unexpected visitor. Chigvintsev quickly hid the ring as Nikki barged in and the trio engaged in an awkward stare down.

“Come take a nap with me,” Nikki begged Chigvintsev, leaving Brie with the ring once again.

Still, Nikki said, “Yes,” when Chigvintsev proposed in Paris later during the trip.

Nikki first shared that she and Chigvintsev got engaged in January with a sweet snap showing off her ring. The former WWE superstar met her future husband in 2017 when she was his dance partner on Season 25 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

The couple is expecting their first child together — and Nikki is due around the same time as Brie, who is also pregnant.

“Total Bellas” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on E!.
