RHOC: Defamation Lawsuit Between Jim Bellino Vs Tamra Judge & Shannon Beador Explained

Movies

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador are in some hot water lately with a defamation lawsuit. So here’s everything fans need to know about the lawsuit between Jim Bellino and the two housewives.

Judge and Beador are no strangers to being in the middle of all the drama on the Bravo show as both have grown to enjoy it and have quickly become two of the most popular of the housewives thanks to their spunky attitude. While both women have had their share of hardships with fellow co-stars and have had to live through a messy divorce while filming the show, the California natives also tried to keep it fun and positive with their co-stars, always bringing the sunshine.

The whole seedy affair started when Beador and Judge spoke on Heather McDonald’s podcast about Bellino’s business. The Blast obtained court documents that recently showed an Orange County Judge dismissed all claims against McDonald.  Before suing the host, Bellino sued Beador and Judge for defamation and he had accused them of lying about his business being in trouble. The two blondes also were said to have accused him of faking his divorce. Bellino believed that their comments ruined his reputation, though many would argue it was already ruined after he appeared on the show and treated his wife rudely. Bellino has already filed an appeal with the courts.

Beador recently had her case dismissed and was awarded $137,340 in attorney fees from Bellino as they had been fighting in court for years. The mother of three has already started to collect the money owed to her as she placed a lien against Bellino’s properties and will have to look into his finances in court. The case against McDonald was filed separately and Bellino claimed that the host made comments that were part fact and thought she was liable as well. Since day one, the podcast host has maintained her innocence and asked the case to be tossed out of court. Bellino still claimed that he was unable to obtain business loans and new investors since the women spoke wrongly about him. Judge’s case is still very much pending even though the incident took place in June of 2019.

Sadly, McDonald and the two housewives have fallen out since the case started and the host is mourning the loss of her friendship. All three women’s lawyers advised their clients not to speak to one another, admitting that they have not spoken in over a year. Fans of the show know that there was no precedent for first amendment rights regarding podcasts but luckily the truth prevailed.
