Chris Pratt finally becomes the face of the Indiana Jones franchise in a new deepfake video. The Indiana Jones series gained a huge fan base shortly after Steven Spielberg and George Lucas released Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981. Harrison Ford played the famous archeologist in the original trilogy from the ’80s and also returned for the long-anticipated sequel, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008.
Despite Ford now being nearly 80 years old, the actor has continued his successful acting career. When whispers of Indiana Jones 5 crept back up, there were rumors that Disney might cast someone else as Ford’s famous character. The film was expected to be a reboot starring Pratt, but that rumor was put to rest later in the year, and in 2016, Ford was confirmed to play Indy again. However, fans have still wondered what an Indiana Jones reboot with Pratt could look like…

Now thanks to a new deepfake video from YouTuber Shamook, fans can see what Pratt would look like in the iconic fedora. Footage from the first three Indiana Jones movies have been manipulated to superimpose Pratt’s face onto Ford’s body, although Ford’s voice hasn’t been manipulated. Shamook’s full deepfake video can be seen below.
While an Indiana Jones reboot starring Pratt isn’t happening, Indiana Jones 5 is coming in 2022 after numerous delays. Indiana Jones 5 will be a continuation of the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull storyline, but Shia LaBeouf won’t be returning to the franchise. Story details beyond that are being kept under wraps, but it’s been confirmed that Lucas will not be involved, and Indy won’t be killed off in the sequel. Indiana Jones 5 hit a slight snag when Spielberg dropped out of the director’s chair, but James Mangold is expected to take his place.
It may be fun seeing Pratt as Indiana Jones, but recasting Ford wouldn’t go over well with most fans. Many fans wouldn’t even give Solo: A Star Wars Story a chance because Disney recast Ford with Alden Ehrenreich, and the same would likely happen if Disney ever attempts an Indiana Jones reboot. While Ford approved of Ehrenreich playing one of his most iconic roles, Ford doesn’t ever want Indy to be recast. Thankfully for Ford and fans, that doesn’t look to be happening anytime soon, and moviegoers will get to see Indiana Jones back up on the big screen in just a few years.
