Manga Artist Suehiro Maruo Teases ‘Silent Hills’ Resurrection?

Horror

The ride never ends, apparently. Despite Konami shooting down rumours of a new Silent Hill game, it would seem that something’s afoot thanks to prominent Japanese manga artist Suehiro Maruo.

Spotted on Maruo’s Instagram were two conspicuous images. The first is a welcome sign of sorts with the words “Silent Hills” on it (and the Japanese katakana transliteration for Silent Hills below), with Maruo adding the caption, “Afternoon invitations hope you’ll join in”. The second image is taken outside of the entrance of Konami’s Tokyo headquarters.

Admittedly, it’s easy to jump to conclusions over this. Also, if this is indeed what we’re hoping it is, it wouldn’t be the first time a horror illustrator was involved with Silent Hills. Junji Ito was originally involved in the original Gullermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima project. And we sadly all know how that went.

But once again, this is all speculation on everyone who isn’t Konami. But after all of these rumours, there’s got to be something going on over there.
