Paramount Reportedly Developing a ‘Transformers: Beast Wars’ Movie

Horror

In the wake of Bumblebee, Deadline reports tonight that Paramount is working on *two* new Transformers movies, one of which will reportedly bring Beast Wars to the big screen!

The site reports that one of the films will be written by Joby Harold (Army of the Dead) and the other by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery), with the latter being the Beast Wars project.

The film would naturally aim to adapt storylines from the Transformers: Beast Wars franchise, which has included video games, comic books and an animated television series.

As Deadline notes, the characters in Beast Wars “are robots that transform into robotic animals like Cheetor (Cheetah), Optimus Primal (Gorilla), Rhinox (Rhinoceros) and more.”

The franchise’s animated series, which ran from 1996 to 1999, “featured the Maximals and Predacons, descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons respectively.”
