NHL player Brooks Laich, husband of America’s Got Talent judge Julianne Hough, has said he wants to “learn more” about intimacy and his sexuality.

Hough herself came out as “not straight” in August this year, and now her husband has revealed that he also wants to discover more about his own sexuality.

In an Instagram story on Monday (December 31), Laich filled in the blanks of a questionnaire created by wife setting out his goals for 2020.

In the space labelled “I want to learn”, he wrote: “More about intimacy and my sexuality”.

He also added “I want to be more open to all things and present in my relationships” and “I am most excited about stepping into a new version of me”.

Hough revealed that she came out to her NHL player husband a few months into their marriage in an interview for the September issue of Women’s Health.

She explained: “I was connecting to the woman inside that doesn’t need anything, versus the little girl that looked to him to protect me.

“I was like, ‘Is he going to love this version of me?’ But the more I dropped into my most authentic self, the more attracted he was to me.”

“I [told him], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you.’”

She later said, in an interview with People, that she has “never felt more like a woman since coming out”.

She said: “This is the first time I feel like I’m not just trying to push it or perform it.

“It’s like, no, this is just for me and this is my voice and my truth, and I’m so excited to just speak from that place.

“I have never felt more like a woman in my life, and I’ve always been the girl next door, all-American sweetheart.

“That’s a version and a part of me, but it’s not all of who I am, and I didn’t even know that about me.”
