Married to Medicine: Arabian Nights

Last night’s episode of Married to Medicine, a celebration of new beginnings turns into a bad ending. The drama was turned up several notches. Whatever peace we had in the last Married to Medicine episode completely was forgotten. I don’t know how some of these ladies will come back from this.

Jackie Walters and Curtis Berry begin their home renovations. Toya Bush-Harris‘s Arabian Nights housewarming party goes off the rails when Buffie Purselle breaks down. Jackie steps away from the ladies. Contessa Metcalfe and Mariah Huq have a showdown in Toya’s two-story closet. Let’s get straight into the Married to Medicine recap!

Toya plans her Arabian Nights themed housewarming party. The budget is $10,000 and we already know that the party will be fabulous if Toya has anything to do with it. There will be a camel and a grand entrance. Contessa and Scott Metcalfe are finally in a better place. They have made the decision that Contessa will be going back to school in the fall. Not only will they get a nanny to help with childcare but Scott will be taking the kids to Nashville to visit.

Renovations have begun for Jackie and Curtis’ home. Curtis is more excited to learn that they are going to France and Jackie took off 10 days from work. I think this couple needs some time to reconnect. While on the way to the housewarming party, David Purselle and Buffie discuss Jackie’s “infertile” comment. Buffie is clearly still hurt about the situation. Simone isn’t sure Jackie really understands Buffie’s pain. While Contessa gets ready, she throws shade at Toya and Eugene Harris’s finances once again. She thinks their housewarming party is too much. I wish Contessa would just mind her business for once.

Mariah shows up to the party with Lake. Contessa is annoyed that Mariah continues to bring Lake everywhere. Contessa feels like Mariah is being cowardly by constantly bringing her sister for backup. I think a lot of the people in the group have chosen sides and have allies, so what is the difference. I think Mariah’s motive is less about back up and more about annoying Quad.

A prime example of allies is Quad Webb-Lunceford and Heavenly Kimes  . When they arrive they sit and discuss Mariah. Quad accuses Mariah of doctoring her drug test results. Heavenly says it’s psychotic behavior. She is one to talk. Heavenly is probably one of the craziest people on the show.

Simone Whitmore pulls Jackie to the side and asks her to apologize to Buffie again. Jackie is immediately irritated and says she is hurt too. Jackie continues to pedal her story that she uses her pain to help other women.  I still don’t understand why she doesn’t understand she doesn’t have the right to mention Buffie’s pain without permission. Simone goes to get Buffie so the two women can talk. This is not going to end well.

Jackie apologizes to Buffie again.  Although Buffie doesn’t think Jackie is malicious, she felt the situation took her back to her pain. Buffie excuses herself to the bathroom and breaks down in tears. Her husband, David, comes in to console her. When Buffie tries to leave, Toya convinces her to talk in her two-story closet. Things go all the way left when Contessa shouts and grabs Buffie’s face, telling her not to wallow in her sadness.  WTH! Buffie has had enough and screams that Contessa doesn’t respect her pain. She storms off with Dave after the altercation.

Jackie tells Curtis she needs to take some time away from the group. She feels like if she’s offending people, she’s not in the right group. I really hate this new Jackie. She did something wrong that hurt someone and she made it all about her. Jackie hates Simone encouraged her to apologize again.

Things go from bad to worse, when Mariah tells Contessa she was wrong to yell in Buffie’s face. Words are exchanged and the two get in each other’s faces. Contessa feels she had a right to speak up because she had multiple miscarriages also. She then calls out Mariah for bringing Lake around. Contessa thinks Mariah uses Lake to say the things she wants to say. Eventually, Contessa decides to do what she should have done from the beginning, walk away. Contessa later tells the other women about Buffie’s breakdown and accuses Mariah of causing it. SMH…At this point, I don’t think there is anything that could help these women heal their friendships.

TELL US –TELL US DO YOU THINK JACKIE ISN’T BEING EMPATHETIC TO BUFFIE’S FEELINGS? WAS CONTESSA WRONG TO SHOUT IN AN ALREADY UPSET BUFFIE’S FACE? DID CONTESSA OR MARIAH ESCALATE THE SITUATION?
