Tom Cruise has played many iconic roles throughout the years, including his starring role in Top Gun as Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. That 1986 action film put Cruise behind the cock pit, remains an iconic piece of pop culture. And with nostalgia continuing to influence the entertainment world, the 57 year-old actor will reprise his role for the long awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick. The upcoming movie’s first trailer arrived a while back, but a new has been released which includes plenty of new footage, including thrilling flight sequences.
Top Gun: Maverick will arrive decades after the original movie, and was directed by Tron: Legacy‘s Joseph Kosinski. There’s a seriously strong cast assembled to star alongside Tom Cruise, including Val Kilmer who will be reprising his role from the original film. They’re joined by the likes of Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Connelly. This new trailer for Maverick showed more footage of the supporting cast, check it out below.
