That’s it for the fall 2019 edition of Persist! It was so great to chat with the many readers who showed up for our feminist book club (hosted entirely on Instagram Live!). We read and discussed Thick by Tressie McMillan Cottom, which explored so many urgent issues about being a black woman in America.
We’ll be back next quarter in December for the next book! Our Associate Editor Vanessa Diaz will be hosting our next book club, and she’s picked The Good Immigrant: 26 Writers Reflect on America, edited by Nikesh Shukla and Chimene Suleyman.
