The Official ‘Jaws’ Mobile Game Will Shut Down on October 31st

Horror

Launched earlier this year, the official mobile game Jaws.io allowed you to alternate between playing as a boat hunting down the shark and as the shark itself, unlocking new boats and new sharks along the way. Unfortunately, we’ve learned that the multiplayer mobile game is shutting down, set to sink to the bottom of the ocean on Halloween, October 31st.

Universal Studios Interactive sent out the following press release today:

“We hope you have enjoyed playing JAWS.iO. Effective immediately, we are discontinuing support for the game and there will be no further content or functionality updates. On October 31, 2019 the game’s servers will be shut down completely. Game progress and in-game items will not be saved, and user data will be unavailable shortly after such date.”

“In-app purchases are now disabled (as of October 1, 2019). If you have any in-game currency remaining, remember to spend it before JAWS.iO goes offline and the game is no longer playable on October 31, 2019.”

“We appreciate the support and enthusiasm we received for JAWS.iO and hope you will check out some of our other games available for download in the app stores!”
