Jujutsu Kaisen’s season three Culling Game arc has been long-awaited since the conclusion of season two back in December 2023. Today, a brand-new Jujutsu Kaisen trailer was released, revealing a January 2026 release window for the next installment of the hit anime, which will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

Fans who do not want to wait until January are in luck, because there will also be a new theatrical movie featuring an exclusive sneak peek of the new season. Per an Essential Japan report, the film will include the second half of season two’s episodes, encompassing the Shibuya Incident arc, and the first two episodes of season three.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans have been spoiled with news updates lately, especially since the anime’s fifth anniversary is approaching on October 3rd. Ahead of the anniversary, a live broadcast occurred on YouTube on August 31 to celebrate the series. At this event, the new Jujutsu Kaisen season three movie was announced, along with the trailer.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s previous theatrical movie, released this summer, was a compilation film of the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc seen in the anime’s second season. The upcoming film will be titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, according to a page on the GKIDS website.

The Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution movie has a Japan release date of November 7th, 2025, and a US release date of December 5th, 2025. The movie will hit theaters before the anime is released on Crunchyroll, allowing those who watch the film to see part of the new anime over a month early.

The exciting event offers Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiasts the chance to refresh their memories of where season two left off with the Shibuya Incident arc. In addition, viewers can catch a glimpse of the beginning of one of the anime’s most cutthroat, critical arcs, which pits two jujutsu sorcerers, Yuji and Yuta, against one another.

With many powerful jujutsu sorcerers now dead in the aftermath of the devastating Shibuya Incident, Jujutsu Kaisen season three will pit sorcerers and cursed spirits against one another in a twisted game, dubbed the “Culling Game.” The Culling Game is one of the series’ most fast-paced arcs, which also gives underrated Jujutsu Kaisen characters, like Yuki and Maki, more screentime.

Anime movies have been well-received, especially this year, so it is no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen followed suit. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, and the upcoming Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc have gotten fans even more hyped for these anime series, elevating the experience from merely watching to experiencing a theatrical event alongside other fans.

Although Jujutsu Kaisen season three’s official release date has not yet been announced, the January 2026 release window offers fans some clarity on when the new season may potentially air. News of the theatrical movie is even more thrilling, giving those who are missing Jujutsu Kaisen the perfect opportunity to dive into season three in the most epic way imaginable.
