What We Learned From Rereading Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ In 2025 [The Losers’ Club Podcast]

Horror

Ka is a wheel and The Losers’ Club are once again walking through Stephen King’s The Stand as part of their event series, The Summer of the Stand. In anticipation of the short story collection It’s the End of the World as We Know It, the Losers spent all summer of 2025 re-reading King’s magnum opus with three Twinner book episodes featuring a new ka-tet of Losers.

In June, they survived “Captain Trips” with a discussion on Book One. In July, a new ka-tet held a palaver “On the Border” as they sorted through the meeting notes of Book Two. This month, as August burns away into another glorious Fall season, the Losers make “The Stand” as they reach the end of their fellowship with Book Three.

Join Losers Jenn Adams, Justin Gerber, Ashley Casseday, and Rachel Reeves as they reach Vegas and give their final thoughts. What does it mean to make your stand? What is the purpose of this arduous journey, What does Nadine truly believe, and what does Randall Flagg represent? They’ll trek through King’s explosive climax and extended denouement to close the circle on the Summer of Stand.

Stream all three episodes below and stay tuned for their coverage on It’s the End of the World as We Know It. Want more? The Losers have been running additional content in The Barrens, including a new commentary for Mick Garris’ 1994 miniseries and side episodes in both Dark Tower Detour and Jenn’s Character Corner. It’s been one crazy summer, even without John Cusack.
