‘Eye for an Eye’ Exclusive Trailer – Whitney Peak Battles Mr. Sandman in This Gothic Fairy Tale

Horror

Veteran music video director Colin Tilley (who has directed videos for Kendrick Lamar, Zendaya, and Megan Thee Stallion) makes the leap into the horror genre with Eye for an Eye, and Bloody Disgusting is exclusively debuting the film’s trailer this afternoon.

Whitney Peak (Hocus Pocus 2) stars in the horror film alongside S. Epatha Merkerson (“Chicago Med”), Golda Rosheuvel (“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”), Laken Giles (All the Weekend’s Drama), and Finn Bennett (“True Detective: Night Country”).

Adapted from a graphic novel called Mr. Sandman, Eye for an Eye infuses classic elements of small-town horror with the visual flourishes and story elements of a gothic fairy tale.

Vertical will release the film June 20 in select theaters and On Demand.

Eye for an Eye follows Anna (Peak), who moves from New York to a small-town Florida to live with the grandmother (Merkerson) following the sudden death of her parents. Feeling isolated, she falls in with some rough teenage locals (Finn Bennett and Laken Giles) and becomes a bystander to an unforgivable act of violence.

She soon finds herself ensnared by the twisted soul of a tormented child from the town’s past, “Mr. Sandman,” who feasts on the eyeballs of his victims. The more she learns about Mr. Sandman, the more she learns about the truth of her own family.

The script was written by author and artist Elisa Victoria (who also wrote the graphic novel). It was produced by Ley Line Entertainment (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
