Despite the injury, Denise walked away from Special Forces with one newfound piece of knowledge about herself. “I learned that I’m stronger than I thought,” she told E!. “But, I wish that I was stronger.”

And at the end of the day, it was about putting herself out there.

As she added, “I learned that when you put your mind to do something, even if you go as far as you can go, at least trying. I think that’s something also important for my kids to see too.”

See how Denise fairs on the torturous training courses when Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres on Fox Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m. on Fox. And keep reading to meet the entire season three cast of celebs.

Watch E! News tonight, Jan. 7, at 11 p.m. for more of our sit-down with Denise.
