BFC to honour fashion icon A$AP Rocky at The Fashion Awards 2024

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that multi-hyphenated artist, entrepreneur, actor and fashion icon, A$AP Rocky, will be honoured as a cultural innovator at The Fashion Awards 2024 (TFA) presented by Pandora, taking place tonight at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

TFA, organised by the BFC, is a key fundraiser for the BFC Foundation and celebrates the role of fashion at the intersection of culture and entertainment, spotlighting creative talent and telling the stories of the year in fashion. The Cultural Innovator Award celebrates a leading innovator and imagemaker in the entertainment industry, who over the course of the year has created viral fashion moments which have had a profound impact on the fashion industry and wider culture.

A$AP Rocky has taken the world by storm since his emergence in 2011, dominating the music industry and clocking over 17.5 billion streams for his music to date. Rocky’s music videos have also earned a staggering 3.5 billion combined views on YouTube. In 2018, following two critically acclaimed, 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 with his albums Long.Live.A$AP and At.Long.Last.A$AP, Rocky released his third studio album, Testing. The album has garnered over 1 billion streams worldwide, landing at #1 on the iTunes charts in 16 countries upon release. Most recently, Rocky has released two new singles ‘Highjack’ and ‘Ruby Rosary’ which will both be featured on his upcoming fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) recognised Rocky for his viral fashion moments, including his Paris Fashion Week debut and creative work with brands like Moncler and Dior.
The award celebrates his influence across music, fashion, and entertainment.

Rocky is widely regarded as a fashion icon and has been a part of many high-profile commercial campaigns including Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Courvoisier, Dior, Mercedes Benz, Moncler, Guess and Fenty Skin. Rocky’s creative agency AWGE has launched partnerships with Marine Serre, Amina Muaddi, Selfridges, JW Anderson, MTV and more. In June 2024, Rocky made his Paris Fashion Week debut with his highly anticipated show ‘A$AP Rocky: American Sabotage’. Rocky also starred in Baz Luhrmann’s 2015 film, Dope.

TFA is the primary fundraiser of the BFC Foundation, which supports the future growth and success of the British fashion industry by focusing on education, grant-giving and business mentoring.
