Shortly before this collective culmination of fourth-wave feminism, Stephen King explored the concept in his 2017 novel Sleeping Beauties. Written with his son and fellow novelist Owen King, the sprawling story imagines a world without women and places the future of patriarchy entirely in the hands of a small group of female survivors.
