Matthew Gaudreau’s Pregnant Wife Celebrates Baby After His Death

Matthew Gaudreau’s wife is keeping his memory alive. 

Madeline Gaudreau, who is currently expecting her first child with the late minor league hockey player, recently celebrated her baby shower filled with nods to Matthew and his brother Johnny Gaudreau

“Baby shower of my dreams,” Madeline, who revealed she is expecting a son, Tripp, wrote in an Oct. 13 Instagram post. “My husband would have loved all the balloons. The way you were able to tie in my husband brought instant tears when I walked in.”

The couple had announced they were expecting their first child on social media in June. Two months later, Matthew, 29, and his 31-year-old brother Johnny—who shared kids Noa, 2, Johnny Edward, 8 months and another baby on the way with wife Meredith Gaudreau—were killed in a biking crash in New Jersey Aug. 29. 

“All my friends and family, nothing will bring his dad back or Uncle John,” Madeline continued in her post. “But I am glad he has so many amazing people around him to remind him how amazing they were.”
