International Award Winning Classical/Pop Cross Over Artist Giorgia Fumanti Closes “Pause The World For Peace Concert Live @ Times Square

The Crossroads of the world, Times Square New York City, was the arena for the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of International Peace Day established by the United Nations in 1984. The major commercial intersection and tourist destination sees over 380 thousand people daily and on a beautiful sunny afternoon the surrounding Billboards seemed brighter, and the vibe was about Peace which made it a perfect space for International classical/pop cross over Giorgia Fumanti to close the 5 hour concert “Pause The World For Peace.”

The Peace concert and the kick-off to Climate Week was hosted by the Good News Corporation and Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine and produced by Paul Sladkus and OMMM. It featured talent from all over the US and internationally as well as the biggest Friendship and Peace Tree standing at 10 feet tall and 26 feet wide and was created by the American Oriental Arts Foundation.

Aside from Georgia’s spectacular gift she was joined by artists including: AY Young, Shocklee (Public Enemy), Grammy winner a Jilly Yeah, House Music singer Irene Michaels, Composer and film scorer Randy Edelman (My Cousin Vinny, Last of the Mohicans), and many others. There were virtual messages from Ringo Starr, Michael, Douglas, Leonardo DiCaprio, Shakira, Stevie Wonder, Tony Orlando, and several others.

Giorgia was born in the medieval village of Fivizzano in Tuscany and grew up in Aquila and Monterosso. She studied voice at the prestigious Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parm. Two decades later Giorgia has recorded 13 albums and has gathered 25 million lifetime streams. She has performed with the world’s top orchestras, and some of the most famous venues from London’s Royal Albert Hall to Greece’s Athens Arena. She has shared the stage with artists including Michael Bolton, Justin Haywood, Lang Lang, and others.

Her sublime version of “Hallelujah” rocked the stage as she closed out the show. It was her time to step out of the shade a flame and unafraid. She stays close to the edge without going over as out on the ledge you can see things that you can’t from the center. Big, undreamed things that people on the ledge see first. ….
