On Tuesday, Hodakova‘s Ellen Hodakova Larsson was named the winner of the prestigious 2024 LVMH Prize for Young Designers.
The Swedish designer, known for her innovative, sustainable designs, won a €400,000 endowment and a year of mentorship from LVMH professionals. She was presented the award on stage at the Foundation Louis Vuitton by Dior ambassador Natalie Portman, per WWD.
“Congratulations to Ellen Hodakova Larsson. We commend her for her hard work, dedication and vision,” read an LVMH Instagram post announcing the news on Tuesday. “In only a few years, Ellen has come a long way. We can’t wait to follow along as she continues to build a legacy for herself.”

On top of walking away a winner, Hodakova is starting to become a red-carpet brand to watch thanks to actor Cate Blanchett. The “Borderlands” star first flexed a custom Hodakova piece at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere in early August. The design was a striking halter top made of 102 silver spoons.
Blanchett again wore the designer’s spoon-centric work on Monday at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of “Disclaimer,” where she donned a matching black blazer top and pants — but the true showstopper was the dangling silver spoons around the blazer’s hemline.
As for the other LVMH Prize finalists, Duran Lantink won the Karl Lagerfeld Prize and Standing Ground’s Michael Stewart took home the new Savoir-Faire Prize. (Both awards also come with a year of mentorship, plus a €200,000 endowment.)
