New details surrounding Ben Potter‘s death have been disclosed.
The YouTuber behind the popular channel Comicstorian died in a single vehicle car crash on June 8, People confirmed. According to a press release shared with the outlet by Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at 9:19 am local time near Fort Collins.
“The Windsor resident was southbound on I-25 at milepost 267.5 when his silver Toyota 4Runner traveled off the right shoulder of the interstate,” the release said, according to People. “He continued to cross over the frontage road paralleling the interstate before rolling his vehicle multiple times.”
Per People, Ben was the only occupant of the vehicle, and that while he was wearing his seatbelt, he “succumbed to injuries from the crash while at the scene.” The release also reportedly noted that while an investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing, at this time impairment and excessive speed do not appear to be factors.
E! News has reached out to the Colorado State Patrol for comment but has not yet heard back.
Ben’s wife Nathalie previously shared her husband had died “in an unfortunate accident,” at the age of 40.
