UK’s Frasers Group appoints Sir Jon Thompson as non-executive director

Further to the announcement made on 26 February 2024, Frasers Group plc (“Frasers” or the “Group”) announces the appointment of Sir Jon Thompson, former CEO, Financial Reporting Council, as Non-Executive Director (NED) to the Board. This latest appointment reaffirms the Group’s commitment to elevating its board and its confidence in its long-term growth strategy.

Sir Jon’s expertise in corporate governance, reporting and audit, and experience in large-scale project management, will strengthen the execution of Frasers’ long-term growth strategy and continue to position the Group as a leading international business.

Frasers Group’s new Board member:

Sir Jon Thompson, former Chief Executive, Financial Reporting Council, will bring a wealth of experience in governance, reporting and audit, having led the major transformation of the FRC following multiple independent audits. Sir Jon’s previous roles include Chair of HS2, CEO of HMRC, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, where he oversaw major projects and drove significant change programmes. –He has also had an impressive career in finance, having held positions such as Director General of Finance at the Ministry of Defence, Director General of Corporate Services at the Department for Education, and Finance Director of Ofsted. Before joining the Civil Service in 2004, Sir Jon held several corporate services and finance roles in the public and private sectors.
