Mdou Moctar have announced the new album Funeral for Justice. The band’s follow-up to 2021’s Afrique Victime is out May 3 via Matador. Watch the music video for the new LP’s title song below.

Formally, lead singer and guitarist Mdou Moctar, rhythm guitarist Ahmoudou Madassane, drummer Souleymane Ibrahim, and bassist and producer Mikey Coltun comprise the band Mdou Moctar. The group is going on tour in the spring and summer, beginning with performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. See the band’s tour dates below.

Following Afrique Victime, Mdou Moctar released Afrique Refait, Niger EP Vol. 1, and Niger EP Vol. 2.
