About Randy Edelman
Do you remember those magical times as a kid when you believed in real magic- princesses and their knights in shining armor, the boogeyman, the always elusive Santa, and the beautiful fairy that was closer to Peter Pan than even his own shadow? Associated with the phantasm there was always music to accompany their sentiments, romance, danger, treachery, or whatever moral or strong feeling that the protagonist or antagonist stumbled upon. Randy has created those illusions for over 100 film and television soundtracks for nearly half his life including: Twins, While You Were Sleeping, Beethoven, Dragonheart, The Bruce Lee Story, Anaconda, Drop Dead Fred, 27 Dresses, Kindergarten Cop, the theme for the television hit series MacGyver and more, many of which he includes in his montage of motion picture hits, as he lights up the life of the movie.
Another part of his life included writing pop songs that were covered by the most prestigious artists of our time….not inclusive of his own charted and current songs. Some of those artists include Barry Manilow (A Weekend in New England), Patti LaBelle (Isn’t it a Shame), Nelly (My Place), Olivia, Newton-John, Dionne Warwick, Bing Crosby, Willy Nelson, Blood, Sweat and Tears, and an endless array of others…many of which he performed during his show.
He is a multi-award winning talent who has shared the stage with The Carpenters as well as Frank Zappa. He has written music for the Olympics as well as NASA. Most recently he was inducted into The New England Songwriters Hall of Fame, and was honored with Composer Lifetime Achievement Award from Get Out Magazine. His recent upcoming film scores include Dutch director Ate De Jong’s Nashville saga “Heart Strings”, the family holiday caper “Athena Saves Christmas”, the exorcism horror themed “Possession of Anne”, and the documentary “Too Hot To Handle.”
