Emily Simpson hopes Shannon Beador has ‘aha’ moment after DUI arrest: ‘We’ve seen her spiraling’

Emily Simpson hopes her “Real Housewives of Orange County” co-star Shannon Beador’s DUI arrest will serve as a wake-up call.

“I feel like we’ve seen her spiraling,” Simpson, 47, told “Entertainment Tonight” in an interview published Thursday.

“We’ve had conversations, just as a cast, about her, worrying about her.”

Simpson acknowledged that sometimes a person needs to hit rock bottom before they can realize, “Yeah, maybe I do need some help.”

Despite the pair’s rocky past, the attorney “genuinely” hopes “this is [Beador’s] ‘aha’ rock-bottom moment.”

Simpson also hopes the Real for Real founder, 59, “takes accountability and recognizes what happened and the severity of it,” noting that she wants her to “embrace that and change for the better.”

Beador’s castmates have expressed concern with her drinking habits in the past, but their worry grew exponentially over the past year amid her relationship with on-again, off-again boyfriend John Janssen.

In fact, on the currently airing season of the Bravo reality show, Simpson quipped during a confessional that Beador needed a breathalyzer attached to her phone that would prevent her from drunk calling the ladies late at night to complain about Janssen — only to forget the next day.

“I feel like there’s always a slight bit of reality within a joke,” Simpson admitted to “ET.”

Though the Bravolebrities are not often on the friendliest of terms, Simpson said she and Beador “texted briefly” after the former was sent a screenshot of a headline about the latter’s arrest, which left her “in shock.”

“I just asked her how she was, and I said, ‘I hope you’re doing OK, and if you need anything, please, you can reach out,’ and that was basically it,” Simpson shared of the duo’s exchange.

She said she hasn’t reached out to Beador since because she likely “needs space.”

“At some point, I’m gonna text and call and see how she is,” Simpson made sure to add.

Beador was arrested in Newport Beach, Calif., late Saturday night after slamming her car into a house and driving off.

She reportedly parked her vehicle in the middle of a nearby road and “tried to act like she was just walking her pup,” Archie, when police arrived.

Beador was taken into custody and booked on two misdemeanor charges: driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run.

She was released Sunday morning on $2,500 bail.

Her attorney, Mike Fell, told Page Six his client was “extremely apologetic and remorseful” and that she’s “prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”

Though Beador has yet to speak out about the situation, she seems to have been injured in the accident.

Earlier this week, she was spotted with what looked like a bruise on her face and an apparent sling around her arm.
