What We Know About Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s Living Situation

Reality TV

After everything that went down in March after Scandoval broke, Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval still share one roof as they try to navigate their catastrophic breakup. Vanderpump Rules viewers learned that the TomTom co-owner had been unfaithful to his partner of nine years, choosing instead to have a roll in the hay with Rachel Leviss.

Since the news of their split, both have been trying to keep their distance from one another, but it is hard when you both are still living in the same home. Viewers can’t even begin to start to imagine just how hard it must be to share a homestead. But when you’ve worked so hard to have your dream life and keep a roof over your head, it is understandable that neither wants to walk away from that sort of investment.

In 2019, Tom and Ariana took their relationship a step further when they purchased a home in the Valley Village area. The popular neighborhood in Los Angeles is located within the San Fernando Valley and is popular amongst reality TV stars.

At the time, the former SUR bartenders paid $2.075 million for their five-bedroom house, a major update from the apartment they once shared. The modern farmhouse, which has often been the setting for series episodes, was built in 2018 and features a gourmet kitchen where Tom often mixed drinks, a swimming pool, a waterfall, and an infinity spa.

Technically, Tom and Ariana still live in the same house together. However, Ariana made it clear during the Season 10 reunion that they were keeping their distance from each other and had a go-between person for communication. Ariana expanded on how she and her former lover were navigating shared accommodation, telling Andy Cohen at the reunion, “He’s been staying in the guest room, and I avoid run-ins at all costs.”

Ariana continued, “We have people running interference and go-betweens to prevent that.” For Tom’s part, when he finally got a word in edge-wise, he shared he was living at the Valley Village home “on and off.” Ariana later spoke to the Los Angeles Times about why she couldn’t just move out and live somewhere else, sharing, “I can’t afford to do that. I pay a hefty mortgage.”

The former couple are both responsible for the mortgage, with Ariana revealing, “We are 50/50 on that. And I’m not going to shell out more money because of someone else’s sh*t. And I have my dog and cat, and I’m not gonna leave them there alone.”

Ariana Plans To Sell

Ariana has already made it clear to Andy on Watch What Happens Live that her “plan is to sell the house. I want my money out of that house as quickly as possible, and I want to move on.” Even though some find it weird that Tom and Ariana are currently sharing the 4,453-square-foot living space, Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney did it first!

Recently, Ariana replied to a fan’s comment explaining exactly where her thought process was when it came to choosing to share her home with her ex. Ariana stated, “I live in a home that I own while working with my lawyer and financial advisors to navigate the best path forward before uprooting my dog and my elderly cat and causing more trauma to the three of us.” While not rushing a move makes sense to an extent, some fans took to the comments questioning her decision.

Some followers felt that her reasoning had to be “fake,” with many pointing out she has clearly made a dollar or two from all her endorsements and could easily buy out Tom. However, it is important to remember that Tom used his half of the house as collateral for his bar, so the paperwork wouldn’t be so cut and dry. Not to mention, the interest rates in Southern California are not great. For now, Ariana and Tom will have to remain roommates until something can be sorted.
