‘Teen Mom’ star Catelynn Baltierra fires back at speculation husband Tyler fat-shamed her

Reality TV

Catelynn Baltierra says her husband, Tyler Baltierra, never fat-shamed her while filming “Teen Mom” — despite newly ignited online speculation.

“If I was ever being body-shamed or called out of my name in front of my kids, I would be gone,” the MTV personality says on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast during a press junket for “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.”

“Because I don’t want my children to think that that’s OK to be treated like that. So that’s kind of why I get angry.”

The proud “girl mom” — who welcomed Novalee, 8, Vaeda, 4, and Rya Rose, 1, with Tyler after placing firstborn daughter Carly, 14, for adoption as adolescents — asserts that assumptions she’d accept any such behavior “takes away from [her] strength” as a woman.

“That’s what makes me angry, that you really think that I would just sit and take something like that if it was happening,” she reiterates.

Catelynn’s clarification comes after a questionable scene from a 2016 episode of “Teen Mom OG” was highlighted by her younger brother Nicholas, with whom she has been attempting to repair a fractured relationship.

“Recently, my feelings toward Tyler have changed,” Nicholas said in a clip that Catelynn reshared to her Instagram account on Aug. 12.

“I don’t like Tyler because of the way he treats my sister. I can’t and won’t respect a man who tells my sister, says that he’ll love her no matter what, and then proceeds to call her a ‘heifer.’”

During the episode, the “16 & Pregnant” alum told Tyler she was thinking of returning to the Weight Watchers program. In response, he said, “It’s your body, you can do what you want. I mean, obviously, I don’t want no heifer for a wife.”

Catelynn, 31, who married Tyler, also 31, in 2015, tells us that “one season” was portrayed “so out of context” — and, more importantly, claims that his polarizing remark was “edited” to sound more harsh than it really was.

“People have to remember that s—t is edited,” she explains. “They would cut out the end of the conversation and [I’d] be like, ‘What, you think I’m a heifer?’ And he’d be like, ‘Oh my God, no, babe!’ And we’d be laughing about it.”

Much to the pair’s chagrin, the scene has found new life on TikTok in 2023.

“I also feel like with TikTok, this new thing, like this episode or whatever they’e talking about was aired like nine years ago,” Tyler says on “Virtual Reali-Tea.”

“So there wasn’t a way to rewatch old episodes. Now there is, so people are hitting rewind, play … overanalyzing every little detail and it’s like, ‘You guys are missing the whole point of it. You [only] see a small clip.’”

Conversely, Tyler has fiercely clapped back at Internet trolls who’ve criticize his wife’s physique over the years.

Most recently, the OnlyFans creator — who frequently shares shirtless selfies on social media, documenting his fitness journey — slammed a fan who urged Catelynn to “get healthier” last month.

“Girl get on that treadmill cuz if u think ur lifestyles will always sync ur sadly mistaken,” the Instagram user wrote in a since-deleted comment. “One day he will look at u n will outgrow u. Your on 2 different paths, I hope u remember this message. WAKE UP n get healthier.”

Shutting down the remark and coming to Catelynn’s defense, Tyler replied, “She doesn’t need a damn treadmill for her body to be desirable to me or for our lives to be in ‘sync,’ are you fr right now!?”

“Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
