Ishmael Butler has announced the first new Shabazz Palaces album since 2020’s The Don of Diamond Dreams. The new LP, Robed in Rareness, is out October 27 via Sub Pop. Check out the album-opening track “Binoculars,” featuring Seattle rapper Royce the Choice, below.

Robed in Rareness has guests spots from Lavarr the Starr (who recently released Illusions Ago via Butler’s Glass Cane Records), Camp Lo’s Geechi Suede, Colorado Springs rapper O Finess, Seattle musician Porter Ray, and Butler’s son, Lil Tracy.

Shabazz Palaces produced Robed in Rareness; Erik Blood mixed the album; and Ishmael Butler and Blood engineered it at Studio4 West in Venice, California. Warren Defever mastered Robed in Rareness at Third Man Mastering.
