The Wrath of Becky

Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion‘s home invasion action-thriller Becky was released in 2020, and sequel The Wrath of Becky comes exclusively to theaters on Friday, May 26.

In the film, “Two years after she escaped a violent attack on her family, Becky attempts to rebuild her life in the care of an older woman – a kindred spirit named Elena. But when a group known as the “Noble Men” break into their home, attack them, and take her beloved dog, Diego, Becky must return to her old ways to protect herself and her loved ones.”

Lulu Wilson stars alongside Seann William Scott, Matt Angel, Courtney Gains, Aaron Dalla Villa, Michael Sirow, Denise Burse-Fernandez, Jill Larson, and Kate Siegel.

Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote (The Open House) wrote and directed Becky 2.

Angel and Coote said in a statement, “There’s nothing like a good revenge film. Maybe everyone feels that way. Or maybe that’s just us, given we’ve both been in therapy for a considerable portion of our adult lives, and need to find our catharsis somewhere. The point is, when we were approached to write and direct a sequel to Becky, we said yes without hesitation.

“All great sequels build upon what made their predecessors successful: they evolve; they take the time to establish the new intricacies of a familiar character; they build upon the original audience’s desires, while simultaneously bringing new fans into the fold. We set out to make The Wrath of Becky that sequel.”

Influencer

The director of Shudder’s horror movie SpiralKurtis David Harder is back with new movie Influencer, and Shudder will begin streaming the film this Friday, May 26.

“Influencer tells the story of Madison (Emily Tennant), a popular social media influencer who is having a lonely and uneventful trip in Thailand despite what she tells her followers on Instagram. While reflecting on her boyfriend canceling the trip, she meets CW (Cassandra Naud), a fearless and enigmatic traveler who offers to take her to some of the most Instagram-worthy locations. Together they share authentic meals and drinks with locals, discussing the differences between Madison’s online presence and CW’s lack of one.

“After showing Madison all of the amazing sights, things take a different turn when CW brings her to a surprise location — a deserted island that is completely off the grid.”

Sara Canning and Rory J. Saper also star.

Kurtis David Harder wrote the script with Tesh Guttikonda.
