Former “Below Deck” chef Ben Robinson announced his engagement Thursday, just days after Kate Chastain denied he is the father of her baby boy.
“After a wonderful 4 year relationship with my love Kiara [Cabral] I decided to take the next step and propose… I feel like the luckiest man alive!” Robinson wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you to my friends and family for all of your support. I couldn’t have done it without you, and obviously thank you to Kiara for saying yes and making an honest man out of me, I love you.”
Cabral added in a post of her own that she was “speechless and overwhelmed with so much happiness and love.”
Robinson, 42, popped the question while on vacation in Rome earlier this month.
“I could tell that Kiara saw this as a special moment and was definitely expecting more than a carbonara,” he joked to Us Weekly. “She says not, but I could tell.”
The foodie had a few close calls with the engagement ring — including Cabral, 29, almost finding it and Robinson himself almost forgetting to bring it on their Italian getaway.
“I had it in my camera bag in a secret compartment. There was a moment when Kiara was looking for an LED light, which was forgotten. I was sure she must’ve seen it, but she did not!” he told the magazine.
“I even forgot it on the way to the airport and blamed our detour on having to turn the air conditioning down. It was a bumpy ride. And well worth it. She had no clue when I dropped my knees in Vatican Square that I would be proposing.”
The couple began dating in early 2020 after meeting through mutual friends long before that.

Robinson shared his engagement news shortly after his close friend and former co-star Chastain, 40, had to shut down speculation that he had fathered her son, Sullivan Cay.
“For the record, the only thing this handsome guy has in common with any chef is the tendency to get emotional around meal times,” she tweeted Monday.
The former chief stew announced last week that she had welcomed her first child.
Chastain revealed her pregnancy in December 2022, explaining at the time that she would raise her son without a partner.
Robinson and the “Traitors” contestant’s flirty friendship played out on several seasons of “Below Deck,” and they initially sparked romance rumors between Seasons 2 and 3 when they hooked up off-camera. However, they never seriously dated.
