Real Housewives Of Orange County Star Tamra Judge Expresses Frustration; Shares Texts From Her Daughter During School Lockdown

Reality TV

One of these days we’re allegedly getting the trailer for Real Housewives of Orange County Season 17 featuring Tamra Judge’s triumphant return. Tammy Sue brings her own brand of messiness to the show regardless of who else is holding an orange around her. She’s a true pot stirrer which means she’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But she undoubtedly makes great reality TV.

In a very un-shady and raw moment, Tamra recently shared a story that every person should empathize with her about. Tamra took to social media on April 13, 2023 to share some texts she received from her high-school-aged daughter Sophia Barney. According to Page Six, in the texts, Sophia explained that her school ordered a shelter-in-place and kept reiterating that it was “not a drill.” Tamra desperately asked her daughter via text if there was a “shooter” on campus, but Sophia knew nothing at the time. She did remark that she heard police sirens and that certainly had to be harrowing.

Shortly after sharing the screenshot of the “text no parent wants to get,” Tamra posted a teary-eyed video to her Instagram Story to let everyone know that the situation is OK. A man was on campus who told security he had a weapon. The school was put into lockdown and the man was taken into custody after authorities discovered a pocket knife.

Thankfully no one was physically injured during the incident, but Tamra explained that her daughter was “traumatized.” Tamra repeated how Sophia described the experience to her. “They were laying on the floor, one teacher handed out hammers, another one had a fire extinguisher ready to go after somebody,” Tamra stated. “Kids were crying, ‘I don’t want to die.” It’s absolutely horrifying to think of kids having to deal with such anguish.

Tamra, like so many parents and other people, expressed feeling hopeless in the wake of so many mass shootings across the U.S. “There’s nothing you can do in this f—king world. I am so sick of it. I’m so sick of what’s going on,” she said. “This has got to stop.” She added that Sophia heartbreakingly doesn’t want to return to school to finish out her senior year after the event.

Tamra’s story is a staunch and, unfortunately, all-too-often reminder of the scary anxiety that so many people in the U.S. live with on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular blogger like me or a reality star like Tamra, it’s a horrible plague that can affect anyone depending on chance. And it’s hard not to agree wholeheartedly with Tamra on this one — something has to change.
