Mia Thornton “Understands Why” Robyn Dixon Hid Juan Dixon’s Alleged Affair

Reality TV

Robyn Dixon has taken plenty of heat since fans learned that she hid a whole cheating storyline on the latest season of Real Housewives of Potomac. Accusations of husband Juan Dixon cheating briefly surfaced via Karen Huger, but Robyn quickly shot them down.

Until the season was already over and Robyn decided to go on the podcast she shares with castmate/bestie Gizelle Bryant, that is. On their hit podcast Reasonably Shady, Robyn teased the details of the alleged affair, only to then hide the whole story behind a paywall for their Patreon subscribers.

Fans and castmates came for her. And Bravo Dad Andy Cohen took her to task on an episode of Watch What Happens Live before the reunion aired. But Robyn does have one staunch defender – Mia Thornton. As reported by Page Six, Mia recently discussed her thoughts on the matter during an appearance on the publication’s podcast, Virtual Reali-Tea.

Mia began, “It’s a very touchy situation … and they’re trying to figure things out. There’s a lot of pain, there’s a lot of hurt. Does she really want to talk about this on national television, especially if they’ve already moved forward? Probably not.”

The second-season housewife added, “Because what happens is that it opens up old wounds. I get it. I understand why she left it alone.” To which I say, “DUH.” Of course, she didn’t want to air out her dirty laundry for all to see. But you’re on a reality show, happily watching your castmates spin narratives about someone else’s husband cheating. Or acting inappropriately. When your husband is allegedly doing the same thing.

But Mia does wish that Robyn would have handled it differently. She stated, “Should it have been brought up? Sure, I think it should have. I’m pretty sure we’re going to have to talk about this soon.” So is this an indication that we might see some of the aftermath next season? Because that needs to happen. Mia then noted, “But do I understand why she did it? Yes, I do and I feel for her.”

Mia continued, “I love her. It is so unfortunate because if I think about the cast and if you were to ask me, ‘Who’s the realest of the bunch?’ I would say Robyn.” Mia even affectionately refers to Robyn as “my girl,” so clearly the two have gotten closer.

The mom-of-three, who had a tough season herself, also wished that Robyn would have come to her for support. “So I’m disappointed to know that there was something she was dealing with that I didn’t know about. I’m like, ‘What? Is this true?’ But other than that, I think … we should just be who we are: reality TV stars. The point is real, right? It’s R-E-A-L.”

The whole situation has given Mia pause about how she handles her own business on the show. “There are some things that I probably shouldn’t put out there because I forget that I have a 5-year-old and for some reason, her friends are watching the show. I’m like, ‘What? We need to set some parameters. Where’s your mom?!’” Mia explained.
