Wilco Announce Alternate Version of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Crosseyed Strangers will be released as a Record Store Day vinyl exclusive on April 22

Wilco are among the many groups participating in this year’s edition of Record Store Day. The band will release an alternate version of their 2002 indie classic Yankee Hotel Foxtrot as an exclusive for the annual event, which falls on April 22. The LP, titled Crosseyed Strangers: An Alternate Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, will be available on vinyl. Record Store Day revealed their full list of titles for 2023 earlier today (February 16). Check out the tracklist for Crosseyed Strangers below.

The deluxe 20th anniversary edition of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot arrived last year, and earned two Grammy awards: one for Best Historical Album, and another for Best Album Notes. The Record Store Day version of the LP includes live and alternate takes of several tracks. The collection was originally released as a bonus CD with the September 2022 edition of Uncut magazine.

More recently, Wilco announced the imminent launch of a Reverb shop where they will sell instruments, gear, and more from their famed Chicago studio, the Loft. The shop opens on Wednesday, February 22, and will feature a 1963 Gibson Everly Bros acoustic guitar, Nels Cline’s Carr Impala combo amplifier, a century-old Burdett pump organ, and more.
