Prime Video’s “The Power” Teaser Trailer Sparks Electric Revolution Starring Toni Collette

Horror

Prime Video unveiled the first teaser trailer for “The Power,” an electrifying new thriller series starting Toni Collette (Hereditary) and John Leguizamo (Violent NightThe Menu).

“The Power” is described as an “emotionally driven global thriller” based on British author Naomi Alderman’s award-winning novel of the same name.

The new teaser trailer below warns of an impending revolution thanks to a unique superpower that leaves teen girls with the ability to electrocute on a whim. Collette’s character opens with a plea to take this new development seriously, begging the question of how lethal will this phenomenon become? It also highlights an all-star cast and teases another bloody dance floor.

The series, which will premiere on the streaming service on March 31, 2023, comes from Amazon Studios and SISTER, with Raelle Tucker (“True Blood”) serving as showrunner. The 10-episode series gets ambitious in scale, too, featuring a global story “from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe.”

In the series: “The Power is our world, but for one twist of nature. Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. The series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.”

Collette stars as Mayor Margot Cleary-Lopez, alongside Leguizamo as Rob Lopez, Auli’i Cravalho as Jos Cleary-Lopez, Toheeb Jimoh as Tunde Ojo, Josh Charles as Daniel Dandon, Eddie Marsan as Bernie Monke, Ria Zmitrowicz as Roxy Monke, Zrinka Cvitešić as Tatiana Moskalev, Halle Bush as Allie Montgomery, and more.

“The Power” will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, March 31, with new episodes available each Friday, leading up to the season finale on May 12, 2023. Check out the teaser and new images below.
