Teresa Giudice ‘can’t relate’ to Jen Shah’s prison sentencing

Reality TV

Teresa Giudice claims she and Jen Shah are not the same – despite both being “Real Housewives” stars who’ve had to go to prison.

“I can’t relate to that [Shah’s sentencing], because I would never do something like that, you know?” the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, 50, said on Wednesday’s episode of her “Namaste B$tches” podcast on PodcastOne.

Giudice argued that her 11-month stint behind bars is much different from Shah’s upcoming six-and-a-half years.

The Bravo star explained that she went away for accidentally signing papers that allowed her ex-husband to commit fraud – while Shah ran a nationwide telemarketing scheme that targeted hundreds of people, specifically the elderly.

“That bothers me, because I did it – I did my jail time, [and] I was really innocent,” Giudice explained.

“Listen, it’s sad, [but] like, I wouldn’t steal anybody’s money,” Giudice continued. “I would not do that. I would never do that, that’s so bad.”

Giudice emphasized that being compared to Shah “bothers” her, because unlike Shah, she was “innocent” and “just signed papers that Joe [Giudice] told me to sign.”

“I know my kids know that I didn’t do anything. Joe told them,” Giudice continued.

“But when you’re stealing [from] people, and the kids could read this, and they’re like, ‘Mom, well why’d you do this?’ Like what do you say to your kids to that?”

The mom of four served less than a year in prison in 2015, while Joe was behind bars for 41 months.

He was deported to Italy upon his completion.

Giudice’s comments came less than a week after the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star, 49, was sentenced to six and-a-half years in prison for wire fraud.

Shah – who changed her plea from not guilty to guilty just days before she was set to stand trial – faces up to 14 years behind bars.

During her sentencing, Shah apologized to both her family and the victims and acknowledged that she “hurt innocent people.”

The reality TV star was arrested in March 2021 in the midst of filming “RHOSLC” Season 2. Shah is set to begin her sentencing on Feb. 17.
