Bethenny Frankel says Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis apologized after slamming her as “defensive” and “hypocritical” on Wednesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
“What a circus of emotions today,” Frankel said in an Instagram Story on Thursday afternoon. “Had a phone call with Andy, had a phone call with Jeff Lewis.”
The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum, 52, explained that she “read so many comments” after her confrontation on the talk show caused a commotion on social media.
“Love you all, gotta have a good sense of humor about everything and also, gotta accept people’s apologies and be transparent and roll with the punches,” she concluded.
Frankel accepted the apologies after both she and Lewis, 52, spoke out about the explosive episode in which they were both constantly jabbing at one another and accusing the other of being “angry.”
“My assistant said, ‘He’s that person now. Everyone you were with thinks he is so nasty and mean and came for you for no reason,’” Frankel said on her podcast, “ReWives,” released on Thursday morning.
The Skinnygirl founder claimed that the “moral of the story is it’s a toxic environment,” because she didn’t realize Lewis was “coming for me for no reason” until other people told her afterwards.
Lewis, meanwhile, also addressed both the “WWHL” episode and Frankel’s podcast. He claimed that “everything was fine when we left” the taping, and she even gave “thoughtful” holiday presents to him and his daughter Monroe, 6.
However, the “Flipping Out” star knew something had changed after he messaged her later thanking her for the gifts, and she called the taping “interesting,” he explained on Thursday’s episode of his SiriusXM show.
“I was like, ‘Oof, I thought that’s a little chilly,’ and then I got a little nervous, because I hope she wasn’t insulted by me or anything like that,” he said.
Lewis read Frankel’s alleged response in which she said she felt it was an “ambush” with both him and Cohen coming in with “guns blazing.” He responded by apologizing if he “hurt [her] feelings,” and explained he only “jabbed” at her because he knew she “would give it back to me.”
Frankel then called Lewis, and the two had a “very nice conversation” where he apologized and “made it very clear to her” that he was just joking throughout the taping.
“I think we’re good now,” Lewis concluded. “I think we buried it.”
Lewis, Frankel and Cohen, 54, bickered throughout the episode over Frankel’s controversial “Real Housewives” recap podcast, “ReWives,” and the comments Lewis and Cohen made about the show.
“I thought it was kind of hypocritical of you to [launch the podcast] because you have been trashing the ‘Housewives’ publicly for the last three years,” Cohen told her, to which Frankel defended her podcast, saying she has “reflections to share” from her decade on “RHONY.”
