‘Project Wolf Hunting’ – Ultra Violent Action Slasher Is Coming to SCREAMBOX in 2023!

Horror

We’ve got some huge, huge, huge news for gorehounds!

Get your SCREAMBOX subscription locked in for the next year because we just picked up streaming rights to Well Go USA’s festival smash hit Project Wolf Hunting, which is straight-up one of the goriest and most violent action slashers I’ve ever seen!

The film is explosively fun, a high-octane beast of a splatterfest that’s jam-packed with midnight chaos from broken bones to exploding heads.

Project Wolf Hunting plays out a bit like a superior version of Jason Takes Manhattan, blended in a mixer with everything from Resident Evil to Predator and Con Air.

Project Wolf Hunting, which Nightmare on Film Street hailed as “one of the most savage, bloodthirsty action movies of the year,” will be available for SCREAMBOX and Hi-YAH! subscribers exclusively to stream beginning May 15, 2023.

ScreenDaily first reported the news this afternoon.

In the film, “During transport from the Philippines to South Korea, a group of dangerous criminals unites to stage a coordinated escape attempt. As the jailbreak escalates into a bloody, all-out riot, the fugitives and their allies from the outside exact a brutal terror campaign against the special agents onboard the ship.”

“We are very excited for Project Wolf Hunting to make its debut on SCREAMBOX, which consistently offers die-hard horror fans titles they can’t find anywhere else, from niche slashers and supernatural thrillers to revered horror classics dating as far back as the silent era,” said Jason Pfardrescher, EVP-Digital and Theatrical Distribution at Well Go USA. Project Wolf Hunting is a jaw-dropping, no-holds-barred tribute to the horror and action genres, and this co-release on Hi-YAH! and SCREAMBOX ensures that loyal fans of each will get to revel in this boundary-pushing wild ride of a film.”

Project Wolf Hunting is an instant cult classic that will be celebrated alongside other slasher classics like our SCREAMBOX Original Terrifier 2,” said Brad Miska, Managing Director of SCREAMBOX.  “We’re so excited to work with Well Go USA on this title and know that it’s going to become an immediate fan favorite!”

Project Wolf Hunting, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, was the first Korean film to play in TIFF’s Midnight Madness section since Bong Joon-ho’s The Host in 2006.

The film was written and directed by KIM Hongsun (The Chase, The Con Artist) and features an all-star cast led by SEO In-guk (The Master’s Sun, Hello Monster), JANG Dong-yoon (Search, Mr. Sunshine), CHOI Guyhwa (The Wailing, Train to Busan, A Taxi Driver) and JEONG So-min (Alchemy of Souls, My Roommate is Gumiho) and SUNG Dong-il (The Cursed, The Great Battle). Project Wolf Hunting opened in North American theaters October 7 and will be releasing on Digital, Blu-ray & DVD beginning in February.

The deal was negotiated by Jason Pfardrescher on behalf of Hi-YAH! and Well Go USA and Selin Kilic on behalf of SCREAMBOX/ Cinedigm.
