Floating Points has released “Someone Close,” an eight-minute electronic track of looped melodies. Give it a listen below.

“Someone Close” is the fourth single Floating Points has released this year, following “Problems,” “Grammar,” and “Vocoder.” All four tracks will be available on limited vinyl on December 16 via Ninja Tune.

Floating Points’ last album, the Pharaoh Sanders and London Symphony Orchestra collaboration Promises, was released last year. The LP, which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, followed the producer’s 2019 album Crush. It was Sanders’ final album; the legendary saxophonist died this September at the age of 81.
