Cult Classic ‘Deep Sleep’ Series Returns Next Year With ‘Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken’ [Trailer]

Horror

Fans of developer scriptwelder’s Deep Sleep series will be pleased to know that the series is making a comeback ten years later. Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken will launch in 2023 on Steam (other platforms to follow), and sees the tension, atmosphere, and horror of the series return through “classic point-and-click adventure gameplay and stunning pixel art visuals.”

In Labyrinth of the Forsaken, players follow Amy, a small town vet whose world is swallowed by darkness following the unexplained sudden death of her estranged brother Thomas, and the revelation of his obsession with lucid dreaming. As Amy delves into Thomas’ years of research, her own dreams contort and twist, and she begins to wonder whether Thomas was onto something extraordinary, and the possibility that he isn’t actually dead.

Gameplay-wise, players will explore fantastical and nightmarish dream realms while overcome challenges and puzzles using their smarts and sheer will to shape their surroundings. You’ll also be able to improve and unlock new skills for Amy to help keep her alive and even the odds against her, while encountering bizarre beings who could be friend or foe (or both). There are also multiple endings and secrets to find, though you’ll have to survive the beings hunting you to do it.
