Back in 2020, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon launched the nonpartisan For Wisconsin initiative to get out the vote in his home state. He’s now announced a handful of events “to build enthusiasm for voting” before Election Day (Tuesday, November 8). In addition to information on early voting locations, the events will feature limited-edition merchandise.

In a statement, Vernon said:

We’ve started For Wisconsin because normal wasn’t good enough. We’re all taught differing political and philosophical beliefs early on; we want to continue the conversations that take us beyond those differences. What can be better? That’s what we’re asking.

No one is more powerful than a citizenry that is empowered and together. We’ll be asking, talking, listening, and expressing ourselves through meetings, concerts, media, art, and all sorts of fun and engaging experiences. It’s time to foster a better home state for everyone, from Superior to Milwaukee, Viroqua to Green Bay, and everywhere in-between. For Us. For Wisconsin.

Vernon will not be personally attending For Wisconsin’s Apocalypse Nah Tour as he is on tour with Bon Iver in Europe. Earlier this week, he invited Taylor Swift onstage in London to perform “Exile.”
