“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga is telling her side of the most infamous story of BravoCon 2022.
After a video surfaced showing co-star Jennifer Aydin throwing a drink and screaming at Melissa and her husband, Joe Gorga, in the lobby of the Gansevoort Meatpacking hotel in New York City, the Envy boutique owner took to her PodcastOne “On Display” podcast to explain her perspective on the altercation and reveal what allegedly preceded it.
Melissa claimed that BravoCon attendees kept informing her on both Friday and Saturday that “another cast member” was “bashing” her during the convention.
Then during one of the panels, Aydin, 45, told the crowd that the Gorgas’ future on “RHONJ” was in jeopardy, saying they were “holding on for dear life.”
Via her podcast, Melissa, 43, clapped back, “First of all, stay in your lane. Second of all, I’m not sure which show you’re watching.”
Fast-forwarding to the Sunday of BravoCon around 1 a.m., Melissa said she and Joe were at the hotel, standing by the front doors of the lobby and talking to cast members from “Family Karma,” when Aydin and her assistant walked in.
Melissa claimed Aydin gave her a “snarky stare in [her] eyes” as she made her way toward the elevators, prompting Melissa to allegedly say, “Keep moving, wannabe. Come on, loser, just keep walking. There’s the elevator.”
She insisted there was “no yelling or screaming” on her part but that Aydin — whom she insinuated was not sober because she had been “at a party before” — “did not like” the comment.
Melissa claimed Aydin began “screaming,” “yelling” and “cursing” in the direction of the Gorgas, who were allegedly “still by the front door.”
“My assistant, somebody that I work with, walks over to [Aydin]. … He goes, ‘You’re acting like trash. You can’t do this. Go inside. Stop yelling. Why are you acting like trash? Get out of here,’” Melissa claimed.
“She freaked out that he said that, OK? Joe is now seeing her freak out, and Joe — and I have to say, I don’t think we give Joe enough credit, and he’s 100 percent wrong sometimes — but he literally said, ‘I don’t even know how this dirty bitch is on the show.’ He did say that out loud, but he said it to the other people we were talking to. Is he right? No, but he said that.”
Melissa claimed that Joe’s remark elicited an even bigger reaction from Aydin, who then threw the contents of her plastic cup on Melissa’s assistant.
Melissa said the liquid got “all over the lobby” and “all over the [hotel’s] security guard.”
“By the way, she should probably take care of his dry cleaning bill,” the “On Display” songstress suggested, before adding that Aydin was then “escorted” up to her room.
According to Melissa, Aydin caused a “scene” and created “tension that’s unnecessary at a celebratory event.”
Bravo boss Andy Cohen later got wind of the “gross” altercation and was not happy.
