They don’t call her the Singer Stinger for nothing.
“Real Housewives of New York City” alum Ramona Singer shared her unfiltered thoughts on Bravo’s plan for a “Legacy” spinoff that features OG stars of the Bravo reality show.
“I’ve been there for a long time. I mean, never say no, never say never,” she told host Carlos King during his “Reality with the King” podcast.
“But I also feel like the ‘Legacy’ [show], how could it be really good? The people they are gonna bring back are the people they didn’t want to renew anyways.”
Singer, 65, added, “So now what? Are you gonna call it ‘The Loser Show,’ the ‘Loser Legacy’?”
Bravo host Andy Cohen revealed the next phases for “RHONY” in March, telling Variety that a “RHONY” reboot — featuring all-new and diverse women — was in the works as well as a “Legacy” project.
Cohen, 54, previously told Variety that the dual show approach “takes into account everything that our passionate audience has really been telling us over the last year” — which saw “RHONY” ratings drop and the cancellation of the Season 13 reunion.
During a Sunday night “Watch What Happens Live” taping at BravoCon 2022, Cohen introduced the audience to the seven “Housewives” who will participate in “RHONY” Season 14.
Creative director Sai De Silva, model and philanthropist Ubah Hassan, home renovation guru Erin Dana Lichy, former J.Crew president Jenna Lyons, influencer Lizzy Savetsky, fashion publicist and brand consultant Jessel Taank and brand marketing and communications professional Brynn Whitfield have each received an apple.
Singer — the only “New York City” star to maintain a full-time position for a consecutive 13 seasons — said on “Reality with the King” that she has acclimated nicely to life without her apple. The last episode aired in September 2021.
“I don’t know if I want to do it again … for a lot of reasons. I’m much calmer now that I haven’t done the show,” the real estate agent explained. “I know this is an oxymoron, but I really don’t like being recognized.”
Singer — who attended BravoCon, a three-day fan convection held at Manhattan’s Javits Center — said she is relishing in her decreased exposure.
“All of a sudden, people aren’t bugging me, like, ‘Are you Ramona? I know you’re on a date, but can I have a photo?’ I don’t like all the attention. And guess what? The men I date don’t like all the attention. Even my girlfriends don’t,” she asserted.
“They’ll say, ‘Oh my gosh, Ramona, I used to go out with you and 20 people would come up to you. And now it’s only one.’ So I don’t like all the attention.”
Singer also said that she didn’t enjoy interacting with the media during her tenure as a “Real Housewife.”
“I really don’t like the press. The press stressed me out with all that stuff. That was really, really very hurtful and made me really unhinged,” she admitted. “I mean, unhinged.”
The “Life on the Ramona Coaster” author elaborated, “And I realize now I’m so much more relaxed. All my friends say I’m 50 percent more calmer. I still have high energy, but I’m not as hard-ass. There’s something more gentle and I’m actually able to date now in a better way.”
Though Singer is unsure about her future on Bravo, former castmate and longtime pal Luann de Lesseps told Page Six earlier this year that the “Legacy” series wouldn’t be the same without her.
“Listen, I can’t see a show without the Ramona Singer ‘stinger,’” the “Money Can’t Buy You Class” singer, 57, said at the time. “So, I’d be surprised if they didn’t ask her back.”
Cohen told Page Six at BravoCon on Friday that the reboot with the new “Housewives” was taking priority over “Legacy,” which has yet to begin its casting process. (He did mention in the press room that beloved “RHONY” icon Bethenny Frankel “doesn’t want to” join.)
“The truth of the matter is we have not spoken to any of our classic ‘RHONY’ women about ‘Legacy’ yet,” Cohen said.
“We really were waiting to get the ‘RHONY’ reboot right, and we really wanted to tell new stories, and we wanted to capture the energy in New York City, and I’m really happy with where we’re at.”
